Cannabis offence arrest spike

Tauranga police arrested three people on Tuesday on cannabis charges.
At 2.15pm a 45 year old Matapihi man, employed as an orchard worker, was arrested and charged with cultivating cannabis. He is due to appear in Tauranga District Court next Tuesday.

In a separate incident, a 42 year old Greerton man was arrested at 10.05pm at the Tauranga Police Station and charged with cultivating cannabis and theft. He is due to appear in Tauranga District Court on Thursday.
A 22 year old Hamilton man was arrested at 1.25am on Wednesday and charged with possession of cannabis and unlawfully interfering with a motor vehicle. He will appear in Tauranga District Court on Wednesday.
Also arrested overnight was an 18 year old woman from Isla Place in Hairini. She was arrested at the Tauranga Police Station at 2.40am on Wednesday and charged with three counts of receiving stolen property.
At 3.23am, a 19 year old Ohauiti man was arrested on Devonport Road and charged with common assault. He will appear in Tauranga District Court next Wednesday.
On the corner of 8th Avenue and Cameron Road, a 28 year old Judea man was arrested at 1.05am and charged with disorderly behaviour. He will appear in Tauranga District Court next Wednesday.
