Police have released the name of the woman found dead following a house fire at Omokoroa this week.
Firefighters were called to the blaze on Bramley Drive around 4.30am.
The body of 54-year-old Inge Provoost was found inside the house, which was well ablaze when firefighters arrived.
Firefighters were called by neighbours awakened by the sound of the fire and breaking glass.
A post mortem has taken place and police are not looking for anyone else in relation to her death, says Tauranga Detective Sergeant Darryl Brazier.
The Police and Fire investigation is ongoing.
