Tackle roaming dogs

My 16-year-old cat Puddy was sleeping quietly on a chair at the back of my home when I heard a commotion. I rushed out to check him and there were two tan-coloured dogs chasing after him. He bolted and to date has not returned home. I phoned my vet, visited the SPCA and reported the incident to Tauranga City Council.

These dogs are unregistered and have been seen many times wandering around Greerton. The council has attempted to catch them but they seem to be cunning enough to slip away. Isn't it about time all the PC nonsense be pushed aside to protect pet owners like myself who actually love and cherish their pets? They should be able to live in their own home without fear of roaming dogs. What if it had been a toddler? Whoever owns these particular dogs obviously doesn't care and hopefully, when they are caught up with, should be taken to court.

Instead of demolishing buildings and wanting to build museums that tourists and locals aren't interested in visiting why doesn't someone get enough nous to stand up for the ratepayers? Isn't that what our rates pay them to do?
