One-year-old suffers head injury

The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was sent to fly an injured baby to hospital.

A one-year-old boy suffered a head injury after falling out of a car window.

The Tauranga-based Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Te Kaha around 6.30pm, after the boy had fallen from a stationary car.

A spokesperson for the rescue helicopter says the boy landed on his head, which resulted in a moderate head injury.

'He was stablised at the scene before being airlifted to Whakatane Hospital accompanied by his mother.”
