Man charged following Bay man’s death

Police have arrested a 26-year-old man who is due to appear in court today.

Rotorua Police have charged a person in relation to the death of a Bay of Plenty man.

A 26-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter and will appear in the Rotorua District Court today.

Police enquiries are continuing, says Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Van Kempen.

Neville Butler's body was found dead at a property on Steeles Lane in Rotorua in September 2017.

At the time of the discovery, Mark said an ambulance was called to the property but Neville was dead when paramedics arrived.

Police had spoken with several people at the property back in September, but didn't make any arrests at the time.
