The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter flew two back to back missions on Wednesday between Auckland and the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
The rescue helicopter was tasked at 11am to transport a 36-year-old spinal patient from Tauranga to the Spinal Unit at Middlemore Hospital.
Shortly after returning to Tauranga, the rescue helicopter was dispatched to Te Kaha Medical Centre, where a 59-year-old male was suffering a medical condition that required immediate hospital care.
He was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for treatment.
