A six-month-old baby has escaped a serious crash in the Bay of Plenty uninjured.
While the baby was unharmed in the crash in Opotiki yesterday, two women were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was called in to transport the two women to hospital.
A spokesperson for the rescue helicopter says two women and a six-month-old baby were travelling in a car that ran off the road and rolled.
'A 21-year-old woman suffered abdominal injuries and a 59-year-old woman suffered a serious leg injury, however, the baby was uninjured.
'The pair were stabilised at the scene before all three were flown to Tauranga Hospital.”
