Police have released the names four people killed in three separate crashes in the Waikato on Friday and Saturday.

Morrinsville resident Casey Walker, 34, was killed in a crash on Tauhei Road on Friday.

Her husband also sustained minor injuries in the accident, which is the subject of an investigation by the Serious Crash Unit.

Two people were also killed in a crash on State Highway 3 south of Otorohanga on Saturday.

'They were Albertus Koopen, 80, of Otorohanga and Richard Rauwhero, 45, of Taumarunui,” says police.

'The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.

'A pedestrian – 17-year-old Whetu Peke of Ngatea – was also killed on Saturday after being hit by a car on Wharepoa West Road in Kerepehi,” says police.

'The driver of that vehicle is currently assisting police with inquiries.”
