Tauranga apprentice David Beattie has come third in the Registered Master Builders Bay of Plenty Apprentice of the Year.
David works for Buster Coughtrey of GAP Construction Group Limited, who says he has a hunger for knowledge and a desire to work with his hands.

BCITO training advisor Tim Buxton says David has a clear purpose and determination to be a top level builder.
'He endeavours to meet and exceed expectations and believes he has what it takes to be successful.”
David received a Stanley Fatmax nine piece tool kit and a DBH flask and cup as a prize for coming third place.
Opotiki's Tony Storey came first, after coming second in last year's awards.
Hayden White, also from Opotiki, came second and received an Irwin tool kit, a wholesafe safety gear kit – including clothing and a first aid kit and DBH flask and cup.
