Te Puke Highway remains closed following a two car crash earlier this morning.

A woman was seriously injured when two vehicles, one believed to be a light truck, crashed on the highway, near Poplar Lane, around 8.30am.

Emergency services remain at the scene of a collision on Te Puke Highway (old SH2), say police.

'Two vehicles, now confirmed to be a car and a truck, were involved.

'The female driver of the car has serious injuries.”

The road between Poplar Lane and Manoeka Road, will be closed for another hour.
