The Queen's Birthday long weekend is back again, so make sure you get out and enjoy the next three days because it'll be the last mini-break you get until October.

A plethora of awesome free events and activities are taking place this weekend, so if you're looking for some inspiration for what to do, then read on.

Kick Queen's Birthday off with some of the freshest goods sourced from local food growers and producers at the Tauranga Farmers' Market – which is celebrating its 14th birthday this weekend too – at Tauranga Primary School on Fifth Avenue this Saturday from 7.45am.

Feed your creativity at The Art Lounge in the Tauranga CBD which is hosting the ‘Interdimensional' Exhibition featuring works created by Auckland artist ​Vjekoslav Nemesh and guest artist Darinka Forjan at its Devonport Rd gallery on Saturday from 11am-5pm.

Across town, the winning pieces created for the Paradox Youth Street Art Competition will be on display alongside works by acclaimed street artists Wongi, Lucy McLauchlan, Jacob Yikes and Milton Springsteen at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology's Te Ara o Mauao building in Windermere.

Craving music? Brew Craft Beer Pub will sort you out with duo Harv and The Major performing blues, southern, classic rock and everything in between at the pub on The Strand in the CBD on Saturday from 4pm-7pm.

If you're up for a bit of reggae, blues and R&B then head to Waihi Beach for the Crossroads Duo featuring Mike Lynch and Neil Pascoe, on stage at Waihi Beach Hotel on Saturday from 9.30pm-12am.

If you end up staying the night at the beach, then head down to the Waihi Beach Community Centre on Beach Rd for the 12th annual Waihi Beach Art and Craft Fair which is happening on Sunday from 10am-3pm. Entry costs $4.

There are several events to celebrate Matariki also taking place in Tauranga on Sunday, with a Maori wood carving exhibition by Whare Thompson at the Historic Village from 8am-4pm, and the Matariki Kite Day at Fergusson Park from 12-4pm.

Latin grooves and sizzling beats will have you dancing until the early hours when the Viva La Party shimmies into action at the Mount Social Club on Sunday from 9pm-1am.
