Easter trading and water rates

Water rates and community feedback forms are about to begin posting.

Water rates accounts sent out over the next 12 weeks will be the first to have the new council community feedback forms attached.

Tauranga City Council is looking for community feedback on Easter Trading, Gambling Policy, and Representation for the 2019 Local Election.

The council want people to complete and return the printed version or go online.

This is an opinion survey, and may not trigger a policy review. All feedback provided is confidential and privacy is assured.

Responses will be reported as aggregate summaries, to be used by Council to ascertain whether further investigation and debate is necessary. The survey is non-binding.

The survey will be included in residents' water rates envelopes over the next 12 weeks.

The council wants recipients of the water rates account to encourage friends, family and colleagues to have their say.

"The council wants recipients of the water rates account to encourage friends, family and colleagues to have their say." BUT, will anything we say make one iota of difference? Highly doubtful.

Just box ticking. Non binding = don't have to act on feedback = waste of time.

Nature, by climate change, might very soon force us to take water more seriously. Presently, most of us take it for granted and fail to respect potable water as a precious commodity. The brutal reminder we will soon get, will be sudden.
