Firefighters are dealing with a large house fire in Greerton this evening.

Police and firefighters are at the scene of the fire on Greerton Road.

Northern Fire Communications shift manager Daniel Nicholson says the house was "well involved" when crews arrived at the scene.

"We currently have four fire appliances in attendance and all people have been accounted for."

Daniel says there are no details about the house, how many storeys it its etc, and firefighters are busy dealing with the blaze.
