She's called The Sting – is seven metres long, and she's now been found after going missing in the weekend.

Campbell Smith of Waihi Beach says his yacht has pulled her mooring, probably in the weekend's high winds, and disappeared.

'She was moored at Bowenton. We went fishing in her on Friday, and it was quite blustery. When I went to check her this morning, she was gone, along with the mooring buoy.”

The Sting is a white trailer-sailor with a thin blue stripe on the hull and Campbell is desperate to find her.

'We only bought the yacht at Christmas so she is a bit of a new toy.”

After contacting authorities this morning and conducting a search for the yacht at Tanners and Ongare Point, Campbell's yacht has been found.
