One person has been taken to Tauranga Hospital with moderate injuries following a smash between a car and truck.
Emergency services were called to the crash on Kaitemako Road, near the entrance of the quarry in Welcome Bay just before 8am.
Western Bay of Plenty road policing manager Senior Sergeant Ian Campion says officers are still investigating the cause of the crash.
"The driver of the car has been taken to hospital with status 3, moderate, injuries."

One lane of the road was blocked, before a heavy haulage tow truck was called to tow the truck and trailer unit from the scene.
The car also sustained significant damage in the crash and had to be towed from the scene.
People with information about the crash, and haven't already spoken with police, are asked to contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.

...the accident appeared to have happened at the intersection of Kaitemako Rd and Shady Lane, I understand the quarry is several km's up the road at the end of Kaitemako Road.......
