Thames Police are in the process of retrieving a body from near Te Puru Forks.

Police are conducting a scene examination after a member of the public reported finding a body near Te Puru Forks, Thames yesterday afternoon.

'The body is being retrieved before a post-mortem is completed tomorrow to confirm the cause of death,” says a statement released from police this afternoon.

'Until formal identification has taken place and next of kin have been advised, there is no further information available at this time.”
