Jet Ski nicked from Bay property

Have you seen this Jet Ski?

A Jet Ski and trailer padlocked to a concrete slab in the Bay of Plenty has been nicked by opportunistic thieves.

Police say the owner last saw his Jet Ski and trailer about 6pm on Tuesday, March 28.

'The Jet Ski was on the trailer, the trailer was chained to an eye in a piece of concrete and secured with a padlock, the trailer also has a padlock securing the coupling,” says Whakatane Police Senior Sergeant Yvonne Parker.

'The trailer was parked in a corner of the property, beside the garage and visible from roadside but covered by tarpaulin.”

At 2pm on Wednesday, March 29, the owner went to put his rubbish bins back and found the Jet Ski and trailer had been stolen.

Yvonne says he also found the chain had been cut through, and the padlock for the coupling has been cut through and was still on the ground.

The Jet Ski is described as a white 1997 Yamaha Wave Runner, yellow mirrors, seat back in the middle of the yellow seat, named "Lilya 2", has a hydraulic lift inside engine cover.

Yvonne says this is not standard.

The trailer is a 2007 grey domestic trailer with the registration number K858L.

Anyone with information about the stolen items are asked to contact Whakatane Police on 07 308 5255.

Alternatively, information can be left anonymously via the Crimestoppers 0800 555 111 line.
