Planned water shutdowns for Otumahi

Progress on the Otumahi (Paul Road) Water Supply project means a series of planned water shutdowns are required to bring the project to completion.

The first shutdown is to be held on Thursday but this has now been postponed.

Consumers will be advised of a new date and time for the rescheduled shutdown.

The water shutdowns are to allow newly laid pipeline to be cut in and connected to the Putiki Pump Station; all properties supplied by the Rangitāiki Plains Water Supply east of the Rangitāiki River will be affected by either low pressure, or potentially, no supply during the period of the shutdown, which has been timed to cause a minimum of disruption to users.

The Paul Road Water Supply project will see Edgecumbe and Te Teko isolated from the existing Braemar/Johnson Road supply and these areas supplied by Otumahi (Paul Road) and the Tahuna Road bore.

It's expected the project will be completed by June 30 and the public will be notified of any future shutdowns that may be required.
