Two people have been transported to hospital following a single vehicle crash near Athenree
A St John spokesperson says two ambulance were dispatched to the crash near the Athenree Recycling Centre on Steele Road which occurred shortly before 1.30pm.
'One person suffered serious injuries and another sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
'Both patients have been transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.”
Few details of the crash are available, but a Northern Fire Communications spokesperson says it appears the vehicle has 'spun out” and left the road.
While a police spokesperson confirms the Serious Crash unit will not be investigating.
'However, police will be looking into it and assessing the circumstances around the crash,” says the spokesperson.
