A decapitated deer recently caught by a local hunter sparked a police callout to a Tauranga property this morning.
Police were dispatched to a Bellevue address after they received reports of the decapitated animal by a concerned member of the public shortly before 9.30am.
But upon arrival police discovered the headless deer was part of a local hunter's recent catch and deemed the situation was not suspicious, says a police spokesperson.
