Clean up aroha for One Love

One Love might be over, but the love of the clean-up crew is still going.

Looking around the city early this morning, a few lawn chairs had been disowned but other than that, the roads around Tauranga Domain appeared clean as a whistle.

Organisers Pato Alvarez and Moe Coffey say the event went off without a hitch.

'It went really well, the festival ran really smoothly and the atmosphere was amazing,” says Moe.

'You could feel the love in the air!”

Pack down and clean-up began as soon as the festival was over, and has been underway all day.

'And pack down and clean up continued this morning with over 50 people in the clean-up crew to get the streets and site back to normal,” says Moe.

'Now that all the rubbish and waste has been cleared, we're working on getting the infrastructure packed out.”

And for an enormous event, the fact that rubbish clean-up is already finished is quite impressive.

Moe says they hosted around 20,000 festival-goers and staff, and had no major incidences whatsoever.

'Police and Security were very happy with how it went and so are we.”

And at the end of the day, Moe says he's grateful for the assistance of both Police and Tauranga City Council.

'We want to thank Tauranga City for the support and we look forward to hosting One Love here again next year.”

well done, and a tremendous improvement on the past 2 years, fun can be had without smashing bottles!, noise was no issue and no couples "sha***ng" on the front lawn, I have more trouble in the "Rose Garden" area on a normal weekend, so big "ups" to event management!!!.
