Auckland Singer-songwriter Donell Lewis, Ministry of Sound DJ Mikael Wills and Kiwi music duo Times x Two will get the crowd pumping when Frequency NYE hits Mount Maunganui.
Presented by Audiology and Pato Entertainment in partnership with Tauranga City Council, the inaugural New Year's Eve music event for under 18's is on at ASB Baypark Arena on December 31.
A council spokesperson explains the alcohol free, New Year's Eve whiteout rave has been introduced to meet the demand for a youth-targeted event in the city.
'This demand was evident from the demographic profile of 2015/16 New Year's Eve attendees.
'Frequency NYE is strictly for attendees under 18 years of age. Providing a fun and safe environment is the highest priority for the event.”
Among the first line-up announced today is singer, songwriter and producer Donell Lewis who's come a long way since his debut in 2012 after countless tours, mixtapes and singles.
With a knack for effortlessly catchy choruses and production, Donell has not only produced and written for himself, but for many artists all over New Zealand, Australia, the U.S. and Europe.
ZM's Ministry of Sound DJ Mikael Wills is known globally for his bootleg remixes of the international top40, and is also set to take the stage for Frequency NYE.
His two latest singles ‘Fall Too Fast' and ‘Give It All' combine pop rock influenced vocals with his modern taste of electronic music leading up to a new album next year.
Rounding out the first set of acts announced today are Times x Two, DJ Tone Def & MC Tav One-Two and Lucas Jory. Further line-up announcements will be made in the following weeks.
Early bird tickets go on sale at 7pm next Monday (November 7) and includes a free bus shuttle to and from the event and cost $19 + BF. After the early bird period tickets will then cost $25 + BF.
