The Greerton Rotunda is back in the village and has found a new home at the Greerton Primary School.
It's not a traditional circular rotunda as in a band rotunda. 'It's more of a sound shell or stage,” says Greerton Village's centre manager Salley Benning.

But nonetheless Greerton is delighted.
The rotunda had been located outside the old Greerton library which, of course, is now the new Greerton library.
It was chopped in half after the IlluminART mid winter light festival in the village during July 2015. And it looked like ending its days deteriorating in a paddock.
'Through various channels I got to hear about the rotunda so we started campaigning for its return.”
It was never going to go back outside the library.
”And to be fair that was probably a good call. Because we have got a lovely modern library and the rotunda….well, it would have looked a bit incongruous, it's not the most attractive thing.”
Then yesterday a large crane deposited the rotunda in the grounds of the local primary school which is very happy to have a rotunda – 'Because they can utilise it for school stuff. It will be well used,” says Sally.
It will also be used for community events outside school hours, like the Cherry Blossom Festival in a couple of weeks time.
'It will be well used again,” says Sally before adding that it will need some work. 'The idea was to get it back and in place, then we can worry about a working bee to spruce it up perhaps.”
It was a happy day in Greerton. 'And when Greerton's happy I am happy,” says Sally.
