A 79-year-old suffered multiple injuries after he rolled his quad bike in the Bay of Plenty.
The BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Whakatane Airport at 6pm on Sunday to meet the ambulance that was transporting the man.

'The accident happened in an orchard and he was stabilised at the scene by St John paramedics before being driven to meet the helicopter,” says pilot Todd Dunham.
'The man was taken to Tauranga Hospital with multiple injuries. The flight was conducted under night vision goggles.
'Later on in the night the helicopter was tasked to transport a patient having birthing complications to Waikato Hospital and shortly after was tasked to fly a 56-year-old male with a serious medical condition to Tauranga Hospital.”
