Birds perched for show

The Tauranga Bird Club's 55th annual Bird Show is at Greerton Hall on Saturday afternoon.

Bird owners from across the North Island are showcasing their some 600 birds to the public.

A large number of canaries are going to be on display, along with finches, blackbirds, budgies, parrots and cockatiels.

Birds are judged on their appearance and condition, as well as their ability to stand up straight on their perch.
The bird show starts at 1.30pm. Entry is $3 for adults, $2 for children, under-fives free. Or a family pass is $5.

for the younger people

Posted on 07-05-2011 11:59 | By Mr bay

Is there anything for younger people happening in this town, most of the activities seem to be for the 60+ age group......although not surprising considering every developer in the country wants to build retirement homes here.......
