Formed in 2013, Mermaidens are guitarist/vocalist Gussie Larkin, bassist/vocalist Lily West and drummer Abe Hollingsworth.
The self-described ‘dark witch rock' trio have toured and supported the likes of Sleater-Kinney, Death Cab for Cutie, Mac Demarco, Windhand, and Die! Die! Die!
Tomorrow's gig is part of a five-date tour which celebrates Mermaiden's latest album Undergrowth which was released in March.
Second on the billing is Edward Gains & The Human Remains which is guaranteed to be a rockingly raucous set.
Fronted by Edward Gains, The Human Remains is an ever revolving cast of musicians who make up the backing band.
According to Edward, The Human Remains is inspired by John Lennon's performance at the Toronto Peace Festival in 1969 where he put together a band at the last minute, made up of musicians who barely knew the songs and had never actually played together before.
And firing up the audience tomorrow night will be Tauranga's Threat.Meet.Protocol, made up of drummer Stefan Braunias, keyboardist Luke Turner, plus bassist and screamer Austin Cunningham.
For the past five year's they've been a feature of Tauranga's underground scene and March saw the three piece release their latest album Mindless Consumption.
Mermaidens with Edward Gains & the Human Remains and Threet.Meet.Protocal play The Bach at Mount Maunganui's Imbibe Bar on Saturday, from 7.30pm. Entry $10.
