The foundation's new chief executive says he is both happy and humbled to have the opportunity to lead the Mental Health Foundation.
'I am committed to working toward creating a society and environment that supports and sustains positive mental health and wellbeing,” says Shaun.
'The Mental Health Foundation does important work. Like many New Zealanders, I've had my own challenges with my mental health.
'I'm excited to help build communities' and individuals' ability to stay mentally healthy and strong.”
Former chief executive Judi Clements resigned in November 2015 and later left the foundation in February of this year. In the interim Hugh Norriss is the foundation's acting chief executive.
MHF board chair Jeremy Gardiner says Shaun's experience, knowledge and skills will significantly help to develop the Mental Health Foundation's positive mental health and wellbeing work.
'As well as our work in policy and advocacy to support those with experience of mental illness,” says Jeremy.
