Op shop trageted by thief

Op shops and the volunteers who run them provide a lot of assistance to the community from the money they raise through selling used clothing and property.

In his latest Whitianga Police Report sergeant Andrew Morrison says their work should be appreciated and not undermined by thieves who target items left at their door-steps.

'Last week a woman stole $6 to $7 worth of clothing as she walked around the shop and then walked off when approached by the volunteers,” says Andrew.

'If you need help there are numerous agencies in our community that can help people so that they don't have to resort to theft – just ask.”
