Bus stop costs

SunLive Thurs March 10 By Lyle McMahon ~ New transport centre set to open: Through this public forum would the Mayor and or the CEO please answer the following questions ~
1/ Is the above project under or over budget and by how much?
2/ Are the figures quoted in the article, for the ‘completed' job or are there still bits and pieces to be done?
3/ When will the project 'be completed” as in no more work charged to this account?
Thanks in anticipation from some interested citizen's that also support 'Citizens Monitoring Council”

TCC responds:
The entire inner city bus stop project from its inception in 2008 until now has cost $995,000 which is $145,900 over budget. This total cost includes physical works, design and consultation as well as considerable service relocation work which was not identified at the beginning of the project. The $496,500 quoted in the Sunlive article by Lyle McMahon on Thursday 10 March was the tender price for the physical work - the bus shelter, canopy alterations to the Willow Street buildings and a further $61,500 for the streetlights.
The new inner city bus stops on Willow Street opened on 20 March. There will be a 12 month defect period during which time any defects will be made right by the supplier of the equipment. Council should not incur any further costs once the contractors and consultants invoices have been settled.
