It's been a full-on start to the week for the Auckland Coromandel Westpac Rescue Helicopter Trust.
There was no rest for the trust on Monday following an extremely busy weekend which saw its helicopter crews called out to 15 incidents that took place from Friday to Sunday.

While on Monday, the trust responded to seven incidents, including two near-drownings that took place on Coromandel beaches.
The day kicked off with the Whitianga crew called to Cathedral Cove for a woman in her 20's suffering shortness of breath after being caught in a rip just before 3.30pm.
'On arrival the patient was sitting on the beach. The crew transported her and her friend to Thames Hospital in a minor condition,” says trust spokesperson Kerrie Spicer.
The Mechanics Bay crew were up next, being tasked to Great Mercury Island for a near drowning just after 4pm.
Kerrie says a female tourist had been diving with companions when she was found unresponsive on the bottom of the sea.
'Her companions gave her CPR whilst still in the water and by the time the helicopter arrived, she had started breathing again and was talking.
'The crew flew her at low level to avoid any diving related issues to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition. The crew would also like to wish her all the best for her wedding this Friday.”
The Whitianga crew were then back into the action after a man in his 40's fell approximately five metres from a tree into the water in Whitianga at about 5.46pm.
Kerrie says as the man fell he hit branches on the way down and was knocked out for a few seconds.
'He was taken to the local GP and ambulance requested the helicopter. The crew transported him and his wife to Waikato Hospital in a moderate condition.”
