Another Lotto player in Lower Hutt rang in the New Year, after winning $7.5 million with Lotto Powerball.
This is the second player to win the Powerball jackpot on a Wednesday draw, following a Porirua family's Powerball win earlier this month.
The winning ticket was sold at Pak N Save Lower Hutt and is made up of $7 million from Powerball First Division and $500,000 from Lotto First Division.
The number 13 can be considered lucky for some, considering this is the 13th time this year that the Powerball jackpot has been won, continuing the winning streak that has made 2015 the luckiest year in the history of Powerball.
Another lucky Lotto player is also celebrating tonight after winning $500,000 with Lotto First Division. The winning Lotto ticket was sold at Countdown Papakura in Auckland.
Anyone who bought their ticket from any of the above stores should write their name on the back of the ticket and check it immediately at any Lotto outlet, online at mylotto.co.nz or through the Lotto NZ ticket-checker app.
Players can phone Lotto on 0800 695 6886 if they want to enquire about the best way to claim a prize.
