Good morning Sunners,
While the sun is shining bright this morning, MetService is predicting the rain to settle in by the afternoon and evening. So let's make the most of the sunshine!
Summer Ambassadors Courtney McMahon and Jess King are all fired up to get visitors and locals fired up about what's on offer at Mount Maunganui and Tauranga during summer.
Tauranga City Council's My Summer Beach Base at Mount Drury is open from 10am-4.30pm, with plenty of family-friendly entertainment on offer.
Keep an eye out for the Summer Ambassadors, who will give you all the latest information on events, giveaways and more!
Today's free activity is Street Performance Stage: Fraser Hooper, Vinyl Burns and Basketball Jones on December 30-31 from 2pm-6pm.
Fraser Hooper will dare to all comers in a three-round bout of pure comedy carnage, while the Vinyl Burns Rock and Roll Circus will treat audiences to a magical illusion performance paired with physical comedy building to a climax of rock-guitar anthems.
Basketball Jones' show features intense dribbling, spinning and juggling of up to five basketballs and more!
Find some shade, drinking water and free sunscreen and a chance to have your summer photo taken at the Beach Base.
