Thames-Coromandel District Council has announced Bluff Rd between Matarangi and Kuaotunu is again closed until further notice as a safety precaution.

Council says more rock has fallen over the long weekend, causing the road to be re-closed to all traffic including cyclists and pedestrians.

'We had tried to have a part of the road open in time for Christmas with further work scheduled for the first week of January, but we are now re-assessing the options following this further rock fall.”

Motorists are advised to use the State Highway instead.
