UPADTED: Power has been restored to propoerties in Papamoa.

The outage was reported at around 8.15am and Powerco is estimated to have the power back by around 12pm at the earliest.

According the the power company's website, power has been restored ahead of schedule.

Power is out to a number of homes in Papamoa this morning, with Powerco confirming the cause of the outage is under investigation.

Areas affected by the outage include: Amery Place, Carlsberg Place, Carribean Place, Caspian Place, Domain Road, Doncaster Drive, Evergreen Glade, Hudson Grove, Lavender Place, and Madeira Close.

Also affected are Mashwood Place, McLeod Place, Mornington Dell, Pacific Cove Drive, Papamoa Beach Road, Primrose Place, Savannah Place, Tara Road, The Gardens Drive, Tierra Place and Topaz Drive.
