At 12.09pm on Wednesday, December 23, a blue Mercedes car failed to stop for police in the Sandringham area of Auckland City.

The vehicle was initally pursued by police but was abandoned due to the dangerous manner the vehicle was being driven.

The Police helicopter was utilised to observe the vehicle.

The Mercedes had a minor crash in the vicinity of the Onehunga Mall and the two occupants ran from the vehicle.

Police arrested the two occupants at 12.20pm.

The vehicle was not reported as stolen and the driver was wanted for breaching his bail conditions.

There were no reports of any injuries to members of the public, police or the two occupants.
