The Auckland-based pocket sized orchestra has been described as one of the most entertaining jazz acts in New Zealand.

It's led by flautist and saxophonist Miho Wada ad features violinist Pascal Roggen, cellist James Donaldson, guitarist Andrew Rudolph, bassist Leo Corso and drummer Jared Desvaux de Marigny.

Creative Mercury Bay chair Jan Wright says if you needed a great excuse for a good old fashioned mid-week boogie then Miho's Jazz Orchestra is exactly what you're looking for.

'We will set the Whitianga Town Hall up cabaret-style so you can book a table for you and your family or a group of friends,” says Jan. 'And remember: get your dancing shoes on!”

The orchestra presents Miho's original blend of ‘Afro-Cuban flute meets J-Pop' music and features an eccentric electric violin, romantic acoustic guitar, sunny Latin bass and sophisticated jazz drums.

Since forming in 2011, Miho's Jazz Orchestra has performed sold out shows at jazz festivals and concert series across the country, plus toured extensively in Japan and Australia.

The orchestra is one of ten acts selected by touring agency Arts on Tour NZ to undertake an extensive tour of the country in 2015.

Miho's Jazz Orchestra will also be performing at the Coromandel Bowling Club in Coromandel Town on Sunday, November 1, and then the Kauaeranga Hall on Tuesday, November 3.
