What's On Today? Trade Fair

Good morning Sunners,

Welcome to the 235th day of the year! There's plenty to see and do around the Bay today, starting with the Young Enterprise Scheme Trade Fair at Bayfair Shopping Centre today.

Get the taste buds tingling or creative juices flowing by checking out innovative products from 14 Bay schools from 9am-5pm.

Young Enterprise co-ordinator Emma Harvey says there will be 14 stalls set up at Sunday's Trade Fair from schools including Aquinas College, Papamoa College, Mount Maunganui College, Tauranga Girls' College, Katikati College and Otumoetai College.

The Young Enterprise Scheme is a learning programme offering students the opportunity to create a business and run it for a year.

Or, go bush at the Whakamarama School Possum Hunt and Family Fun Day today.

The biennial fundraising event is once again hoping to raise money that the rural school so desperately needs.

Teams head out on a four-day hunt to capture as many possums as possible, by either trapping or shooting, and bring them back for the fun day and prize giving today.

Awards are handed out to the teams, with titles such as Most Possums, Heaviest Possum and the Dirtiest Vehicle up for grabs.

The family fun day begins at 10am at Whakamarama School, with a bouncy castle, auction and entertainment for all to enjoy.
