A small fire in one of the feeder lines at Inghams Enterprises on Totara Street sparked a fire callout overnight.
Mount Maunganui Fire Brigade station officer Terry Mills says firefighters were called to the factory about 7.30pm and left about 10.30pm.
'It was just a bearing or something in one of their shoots/feeder lines. It caused a little bit of burning in the product, but it wasn't anything major,” explains Terry.
'We were there for a few hours but it was just a matter of getting into it and finding where it was. It was more smoke and a bit of charred product more than anything.”
The brigade were also called to a false alarm about 3am.
