Tauranga City Council's Community Development team is hosting a Community Connections get-together in Papamoa on Tuesday.
Residents will have the chance to talk about what's happening in their community to elected members and council staff.

The meeting will also feature Dave Hursthouse from The Rock community garden in Hartford Avenue and David Hill from Papamoa Progressive Association.
Other participants include Lorraine Stevens from Neighbourhood Support, Sgt Phil Gillbanks from Papamoa Police Station, Wayne Troughton from the New Zealand Transport Agency, Bay of Plenty MP Todd Muller, local Fire Service staff and a tsunami evacuation planner.
Community Connections is designed to encourage discussion on opportunities and issues affecting Tauranga communities.
The bi-monthly meeting will be held in different suburbs throughout Tauranga, to focus on matters specific to the chosen community.
Councillor Steve Morris says he was excited to meet with residents to discuss ideas and opportunities in their own community.
'This is our chance to leave chambers and visit our residents in their local areas, to talk about local issues,” he says.
'We're trying something new with the format, to make it less formal and really generate discussion.
'Instead of a traditional meeting where presenters stand up and speak before an audience, Community Connections will have display areas set up around the venue.
'We think this will encourage our residents to actively participate and provide more feedback than they would in a more formal situation.”

Where is your evidence that you have not provide, many have asked, you have not fronted up. PS you were keen on a CBD public meeting, however when you had to front up with documents and evidence you then went totally quiet.

Hi "yogi" there is no council money being poured into a CBD hotel; that answer was given as were the others in the comments on the parking issue. You were then asked what specific further answers you would like to know and you didn't say despite further comments from you. So I ask for your question again; I suggest you read the comments (or even the article) before typing. Still waiting for your call to come and have a debate in the CBD. You can even wear a paper bag over your head to hide your identity and avoid public scrutiny of your evidence-free assertions.
