AC/DC Phil Rudd arrested again

Just over a week since his conviction and sentencing, former AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been arrested and is back in custody.

Phil Rudd in a previous appearance at Tauranga District Court.

He was arrested at his Tauranga home last night and is due to appear in the Tauranga District Court on Monday morning.

The circumstances surrounding the latest arrest are not yet known but some media reports say prostitutes were at the house when the arrest was made.

Rudd was in his first week of an eight month home detention sentence.

During an appearance in April, Rudd, had pleaded guilty to threatening to kill a person, possession of methamphetamine and cannabis.

Earlier this year he was set to defend the charges at a judge alone trial.

However, when he appeared in court on April 21, Rudd entered guilty pleas on the three charges.

A second count of threatening to kill was withdrawn by the prosecution.

On July 9 Rudd was unsuccessful in a bid to be discharged without conviction, claiming that a conviction would prevent him from travelling to Japan, Canada, and the US to tour with AC/DC.

An appeal had been lodged by his lawyer Craig Tuck.

Judging by the stories coming out of Mt Eden sending him to prison will be like home from home. Thanks for the entertainment tho Phil. Tauranga needs you.
