Paeroa murder marks three years

This Thursday will mark three years since the senseless and unexplained killing of Mr Jordan Voudouris in Paeroa.

Jordan was shot in the early hours of the June 18, 2012, and to date no motive for the shooting has been uncovered and no person has been held responsible for his killing.

A large investigation team worked on the case, code named Operation Olive, and spoke with a large number of people within the Paeroa community and further afield.

But police and his family remain frustrated as to the absence of a reason why he died in such tragic circumstances.

Detective Sergeant Dean Anderson says while the original investigation team has reduced in size, a small team of officers continue working on information supplied by the public over the last three years.

'We are grateful to all those that have come forward and offered information so far,” says Dean. 'Each piece of information supplied is assessed against the original investigation material and then enquiries are made to establish if the information remains credible and viable for investigation.”

As police have stated on many previous occasions, a resolution for the Voudouris family remains with the public.

Dean says there will be people out there who know exactly what happened and why it happened.

'All we ask is that they reflect on the impact this has had on Jordan's family and that they take that step forward and speak with police to help bring some form of closure for his family.”

Jordan's family remains in contact with the investigation team and they also asked that anyone with information relating to Jordan's death to please come forward and talk with police.

It has been three years since they lost Jordan and they still hold hope the person or persons responsible will be held to account for his death.

Anyone with information can make contact with their nearest police station or anonymously on Crimestoppers 0800 555111.
