Beach Boys head to Tauranga

Wouldn't it be nice if the Beach Boys came to the Bay of Plenty?

Well, fans' prayers have been answered with the Californian band heading to our shores for a one-off exclusive concert in Tauranga this November.

The visit will mark 50 years of fun fun fun, and founding Beach Boy Mike Love will be on stage to ensure there's plenty of the past magic.

Hits such as Surfin' USA, I Get Around, Good Vibrations, Help Me Rhonda, California, and Wouldn't It Be Nice will get an airing, bringing back fond memories and guaranteeing a great night out for the band's many fans.

Mike, on lead vocals, will be joined by Beach Boy veteran Bruce Johnston on vocals and keyboards.

Rounding out the band are Jeffery Foskett (guitar/vocals), Randell Kirsch (bass/vocals), Tim Bonhomme (keyboards/vocals), John Cowsill (percussion/vocals) and Scott Totten (guitar/vocals).

The Beach Boys' New Zealand performance will be staged on November 24 at the ASB Arena, Baypark, Mount Maunganui.

Bay Venues commercial manager Ervin McSweeney says there's harmony in the fact that the world's greatest beach band will perform at what is often voted New Zealand's best beach location.

He says the ASB Arena's concert-goer capacity is 3000 and a sell-out crowd is expected.

It will not be the first time the Beach Boys have pulled the crowds at the Mount. They last performed – with Chicago – in 2004. This time they will be performing for the entire show.

Tickets are available through: www.eventfinda.co.nz or by calling: 07 5778560. They will go on sale Monday, June 15.
