As mentioned previously we will be giving you a snapshot of what's happening in the local real estate market. We have split the area up into three local regions: Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, and Papamoa.

In the following charts there are three categories: sections, apartments and residential.

Total sales in January for the three local regions were 144 as compared to 113 in the same period last year, showing an increase of over 27 per cent.

Tauranga sales were 97, compared with 69 in the same period last year, an increase of over 40 per cent.

There were two sales over the million mark – in the same period last year the highest sale was $790,000.

The following chart shows the largest selling price range is between $0-300,000 and $301,000-400,000.

Mount Maunganui sales were 26, compared with 18 in the same period last year, an increase of over 44 per cent.

There were three sales over the million mark with two over the $2million mark, with the highest sale in the same period last year being only $855,000.
The biggest selling range in the Mount was the $300,000-400,000 price range.

Papamoa sales were 21, compared with 26 in the same period, a decrease of 20 per cent.

There was one sale over the million mark with the highest sale in the same period last year of $690,000.

The highest selling range in Papamoa was $300,000-400,000.
