Kaimai delays continue

NZ Transport Agency are warning motorists to expect delays of up to 20 minutes when travelling on State Highway 29 over the Kaimai Range today and tomorrow, as contractors continue work on major road rehabilitation.

Speed restrictions to 30km/h and stop/go traffic management is in place today while contractors seal a 360m stretch of highway near Soldiers Road.

Speed restrictions and traffic management will again be in place tomorrow (Thursday) in response to loose chippings on the road following the sealing work.

Travel through the site will be slow moving, and motorists are advised to consider an alternative route, such as State Highway 2 via Waihi, or delaying unnecessary travel.

The Transport Agency apologies to motorists for any inconvenience and thanks them for their patience as these important works are carried out.

Last time I went through these road works heading to Hamilton there was 2 speed signs, one on the left hand side of the road, one on the right, both facing Tauranga. One had 30k's the other 50k's.
