Good morning Sunners,

It looks like it's going to be a good day to spend tucked up in a blanket with a nice hot cuppa and catching up on all of the community news in The Weekend Sun, as MetService predicts showers and easterly breezes for today.

Non-stop thrills for young and old is promised at the School Holiday Carnival at Memorial Park today.

Enjoy a ride on the dodgem cars, take a spin on the Hurricane or Sizzler – or a whirl through the Crazy House at the family fun event from 11am. Plus, there'll be food and carnival games galore.

Reminder:

Don't forget the The Mangapouri stream bridge on State Highway 36 - the Tauranga Direct Road - will be closed overnightto allow contractors to carry out work on the approaches.

The bridge, a single lane span on the Rotorua side, will be closed to all traffic from 9pm on Sunday until 5am on Monday morning.
