Thousands tempted to gardens

The NZ Garden & Art Festival Garden Trail has proved yet again how much people love the opportunity to admire others' gardens.

The first three days of the Garden Trail has attracted thousands into gardens from Katikati to Tauranga and the city's outskirts.

Gardeners are reporting full-on days, with one Te Puna gardener counting 500 people by morning tea.

The city gardens provided inspiration for smaller plots and land proving just what can be achieved with passion and a convivial climate.

The Garden Trail moves to Mount Maunganui and Te Puke on Thursday, with all gardens open Friday to Sunday. Passes can still be purchased from local outlets.
