Flag the referendum

With reference to John Key wanting NZ flag vote by 2015.

He's suggesting a two-stage referendum. Why put the country to such a large expense and waste of money when the Prime Minister has already made comment to the fact he does not have to agree with the final decision.

Already 52.6 per cent have responded to a no change decision with only 40.6 per cent agreeing to a change.

Does this mean with National's majority of Members of Parliament he doesn't have to listen to a majority poll result by the people of NZ?

I strongly suggest it is time for a binding law to be passed with urgency that a referendum decision is final and cannot be ignored.

A majority of Members of Parliament do not constitute an automatic mandate to ignore a referendum decision.

Selling our assets and farm land are just a few things that require urgent attention.

With such a majority of National members in the House, and minor parties outside of cabinet positions, they have high office expenses and salaries, but with no parliament experience.
