The German-owned Vega Auriga was due to dock the Port of Tauranga at 7.30am on Sunday, but a Maritime New Zealand spokesperson says it was delayed due to high seas.

The 11,809 deadweight ship has arrived here from Brisbane where it was inspected and banned by officials due to breaches of seafarer welfare and ship maintenance.

Officials here will inspect the Liberian-flagged ship which is expected to be completed by this afternoon, says Maritime NZ.

The Port of Tauranga shipping schedule says the ship is expected to depart to its next port in Sydney at 6pm today.

and when they're finished, the Port should have also finished loading it with containers so it can leave its berth for the next ship scheduled. Done & dusted. Everyone's done their job and all parties happy. Yeah right.

Confused

so if one port banned it due to neglect maintenance then why is Tauranga allowing it to dock here?

so it arrived

and hasn't sunk or hit rocks, so really no news here, I think this is sounding like the mountain out of a mole hill story line......
