BayTrust manager to retire

BayTrust manager Bruce Cronin will retire after 18 years of service, following a decision not to continue in his revamped role.

The announcement was made this week as a part of the Trust's major overhaul.

Bruce Cronin is retiring as BayTrust manager.

BayTrust chair Jenny Mahoney says a new position of chief executive has been created, and Bruce indicated the new role does not interest him.

'We are very sorry to see Bruce go…he will retire with the Trust's very best wishes.”

Bruce, who has been manager since 2007, is 'feeling good” about the decision.

He adds the revamp didn't come as a shock, and in fact the timing suits him well.

'It's a win, win. It's something the trust and I have been working on for some weeks now.”

Bruce will continue his involvement with the TECT board, but will spend more time doing what he loves - home brewing.

'There are beers yet to be brewed and fish yet to be caught. Plus my wife's got a big list for me as well.”

Bruce will retire on December 12 and the new role of chief executive will be advertised shortly.

Bruce is a past chairman of the Western Bay of Plenty Disability Support Trust and was general manager of TrustBank Bay of Plenty from 1991-1996.
