Man dies in Greerton carpark

A man has died suddenly in a vehicle outside the Waipuna Hospice secondhand store at Greerton this morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident in the carpark behind DTR on Cameron Road about 8.50am.

Police and St John Ambulance in the carpark outside Greerton Waipuna Hospice store.

Police Senior Sergeant Mark Pakes says it appears a man in his late 30s suffered a seizure in the alleyway outside the store.

Waipuna Hospice Fraser Cove manager James Turner says members of the public noticed the man having a seizure in a car and one jumped in to pull the handbrake on while the man was removed from the vehicle.

St John Ambulance were called but were unable to revive the man.

It is understood the man was known to Waipuna Hospice staff.
